Why: The weather was perfect last Saturday for the Road to Refuge fundraiser. The bands selection showed real class, from Cable Ties jam rock openings to Nhatty Man’s party starting funk. A showcase of some of Melbourne’s finest acts, Arthur Penn & the Funky Ten were fantastic as always and Ben Abraham oozed soul in his mid afternoon set. Gareth Liddiard’s set had the stage banter of a larrikin mixed with deep intense lyrical rock.

Shining light on important stories and commanded the stage, Lia and Abe seekers spoken word poetry was an absolute highlight. Rachel and Isabel put on 10 minutes of high energy laughs that they are becoming famous for, dancing to Beyonce and rapping.
